It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The time you get to spend with the ones you love and eat some really good food. We wanted to share with you our Favorite Holiday Recipes in our homes! We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do.

Oh I love the smell of baking sweet treat during the month of November and December. I {heart} eating them even more! My mom always makes pumpkin rolls during the Christmas season, so now I make them for my family.Pumpkin_Roll_Scent_of_the_Month

Pumpkin Rolls

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup canned pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • confectioners' sugar for dusting
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
    Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a cookie sheet and line with parchment paper. Grease and flour the paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs on high for five minutes. Gradually add white sugar and pumpkin. Add flour, cinnamon, and baking soda. Spread batter evenly in pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Immediately turn out onto a linen towel dusted with confectioners sugar. Peel off paper and roll cake up in the towel, starting with the short end. Cool.
  4. To Make Filling: Mix confectioners sugar, vanilla, butter or margarine, and cream cheese together till smooth.
  5. Carefully unroll the cake. Spread filling over cake to within 1 inch of edges. Roll up again. Cover and chill until serving. Dust with additional confectioners' sugar, if desired. Slice and enjoy!

When it comes to holiday cooking, I stay out of the kitchen! The torch hasn’t been passed to me to put together the whole spread and honestly, I am not a very good cook…but I am a fabulous baker! I love baking {it just might have something to do with that sweet tooth I have told ya’ll about!}. My cousin introduced me to this recipe a few years ago and trust me when I say to you that you will love this and you won’t be able to stop eating! It is a great way to start of any morning, but especially a holiday with the family!

Monkey Bread

2 loaves of frozen bread dough

Cinnamon and sugar mixed to roll dough in

1/2 C sugar

1/2 C brown sugar

1 stick margarine

3/4 C ice cream

The night before, grease pan and two loaves of frozen bread dough with shortening. Leave in fridge overnight.

In the morning, cut loaves of bread dough lengthwise (and once more if you prefer small pieces). Cut into cubes. Roll in cinnamon and sugar, place in pan.

Mix last 4 ingredients in pan. Bring to a boil, then pour over dough. Let rise for 1/2 hour. Bake 1/2 hour at 350 degrees.

When done, flip pan onto a wire rack over a cookie sheet. {it can get a bit messy}

Hopscotch Cookies


1 package (12 oz.) butterscotch morsels
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 oz. chow mein noodles
2 cups miniature marshmallows
- Melt 12 oz. package of butterscotch morsels over low heat, stirring constantly. Stir in 1 cup of peanut butter. Set aside.
- Mix 6 oz. chow mein noodles and two cups marshmallows in a large bowl. Pour in butterscotch mixture and mix. (DO NOT pour noodles and marshmallows into the pan of butterscotch mixture or the marshmallows will melt.)
- Add more noodles if needed.
- Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto wax-paper lined cookie sheets and chill until set. (If you have room in the fridge great...if not, cover them with wax paper and put them outside in the winter air.)
--Makes about 30 cookies--
--Best if kept chilled until serving....they tend to get soft in room temp.crissasiggyhopscotch cookies

    I don't have any of my own to share (cooking and I don' really mix) but these sound really good! Normally I look at recipes and then don't actually try them, but I'm copying these down and giving them a shot! Thanks!
