My toddlers wake up super early each morning, which puzzles me because I’m known in my family for sleeping in. It skipped a generation, I guess! I though I’d have to live with it, but then I heard about My Baby Zoo’s Sleeptrainer clock!

We all know that children need their sleep, as sleep deprivation not only leads to the grumpies, but it also can contribute to health and behavioral problems. This is what My Baby Zoo had in mind when they created Momo the Monkey and his Sleeptrainer clock. It was designed to show toddlers and young children when it is time to go to sleep and when it is time to wake up in an intuitive and engaging way to help children to stay in bed. Here’s how it works: You set the clock for bedtime and wake-up time, then explain to your child that when Momo’s eyes close, it’s time for sleep, and they should not wake up until his eyes open again. When bedtime comes around, Momo’s eyes will close. If your child wakes up too early, you show him the clock and say that Momo is still asleep so it is still time to sleep. You could also say not to wake him, and that it is wake-up time when his eyes open. You can also program the clock to make pleasant jungle sounds at wake-up time, or no sound at all.

My girls gave the My Baby Zoo Sleeptrainer a great review as soon as they saw the box. One of them even said, “Monkey! He’s so CUTE!” And I agree. Also, I thought that having both the analog and digital clock was a great idea, because it can also be an aid in teaching how to tell time both ways. And I like that the back was covered, because my girls love anything with buttons on it. Knowing my luck, they’d reprogram Momo to wake up at 3am! Plus, I’m glad that the nightlight turns off by itself in about 30 seconds, because my girls prefer it as dark as possible when they sleep. Now did it work? Did it keep my early birds in bed? I’ve tried the clock for about two weeks now, and it did take a while but they are really getting the hang of it. They are starting to understand the concept, and I think it’s because of the visual of Momo’s eyes opening…just telling them with words wasn’t enough. I really couldn’t think of any other way to keep them in bed in the morning, and I believe that with the help of this ingenious little clock, they will develop a consistent habit!

And coming soon…the Turtle Gus nightlight! Gus can be set to turn off at 10, 20, or 30 minutes or on all night. Gus is powered by two AA batteries so you can put him anywhere…he’s even huggable because he doesn’t get hot! Gus is great for comforting your child to sleep if they prefer a little bit of light while they drift off, but the automatic turn-off function will help save batteries.

Ok I know you are all guilty of it….spoiling your kiddos! Don’t deny it. We know you do!!!

Am I right??? Of course I am.

Well, this Christmas was so much fun with our 14 month old as he loves toys! Well we love the idea of getting him fun toys. So first it was “he needs some cars”, then it was “he needs some big blocks”….you see where I am going with this. In the end we ended up with too many toys for the small space.

He has Toys Toys and more Toys everywhere. He has his new Christmas toys along with all of his baby toys. We decided that there were just too many of them in the den, kitchen, and family room so we decided to clean out a spare bedroom and make it his toy room! Genius idea! As I won’t have to clean up the toys scattered all over the house. Now I have a problem….I am not sure how to organize this room so it isn’t cluttered beyond belief. I moved all of his toys into this spare room and they line around the outer edges of all the walls. Hello Chaos! I don’t know how he can even play because there is way too much going on. I need something to store them in….

So I went searching on Google and found some great ideas for organizing a play room and decided to share them with you! Maybe it will spark your interest in organizing your child’s bedroom or play area. I know it did mine.

I love the idea of incorporating bright colors…Creating such a colorful space would definitely make the room pop and scream FUN!

I personally have baskets placed throughout my home. So when there is something out of place it goes in the basket until I am ready to return it to it’s designated spot.
